     Well, this is my last Math Monday. FINALLY! Just kidding, blogging has actually helped me in many ways. The first reason is on getting help, or asking for help. If I didn't know how to explain or solve the problem that would be up each week, I would ask for help. That was how I got to most of my blogs. The other reason was because it helped me review.
     It helped me review so that if I didn't remember the problem, then I would get my mind refreshed. It was pretty awesome, and I'm glad I got to blog, because it helped me in two great ways. I'm not a great fan of math, but throughout the year I have learned quite a bit and I thank all my math teachers. Also all of the computer teachers, because every week they had to find out what the classes were learning about in order to figure out the blog for every week.

     Well, this year math has been a bit easy, except for one thing. I still kind of don't get it, I wanted to get help, but it was to late. I had a great year, but I did struggle to get the stuff when Mrs.Pope was gone. She was a great teacher, and no matter how many questions I asked, she would still help me even if it took her the whole day for me and the rest of my classmates to get it. Anyway, the biggest math challenge for me was at the end of the year. It had to do with the surface area of a triangle, and especially the cylinder. 
     It was just so many formulas all at once. Also the thing that made it even worst was that the math teacher I have taught it a different way, and the book had it another way. But, I finally looked at the book carefully, and solved it step by step, and I got it. I believe this will help me in the future for Geometry, and personally I learned how to

     Have you ever thought about how math could be related to science? Well, turns out that actually the two are very alike. Now that I think about it we use math in science a lot, you just can't tell. I will show you a few ways how the two are related, but it's pretty amazing how much the two have in common. Always remember that we do use math in mostly every subject. Even up to the smallest math, but we still use it.
     Think about when we measure stuff in science. We use measurements, and we add and subtract. We do all sorts of stuff that have to do with math. To me math relates to every subject. Math is just something we need. Now I understand why math and especially English are used a lot. Also why our math and English teachers want us to do so good in math.

     Negative numbers, are used both in real life, as well as in math. Well, math is like real life. Anyways negative numbers are numbers that come before zero on a number line. So in other words to the left of zero. Negative numbers can be used in real life as well.
     They are used in math, and when you have less than zero money. For example lets say that you have -13 dollars, then that means you have negative 13 dollars. I like working with negative numbers in math. You can find them in mostly anything. In money, and mostly equations. Fr example you can most likely find them in inequalities.

     2x-7=15. Have you guys ever done a problem like this? Well, if you haven't it is actually one of my favorite things to do in math. This i probably a really fast an easy problem  so that is why I enjoy working with them. I will show you all the steps there are, and a few more things about them.
     The first step you would have to do is add seven from both sides to make the equation equal. Although it says to add you have to do the inverse operation  After that, you get 22. Make sure it is a positive  After that you just divide 22 by 2 and you get your final answer. See, I told this was pretty easy!

     Well, through out the year I have learned about many skills in math. I believe that when Mrs.Pope was here, she taught us many strategies and shortcuts, but then I guess they told her that she couldn't be telling shortcuts anymore because FUSD wanted us to show our work the long way. It kinda sucked, because all of the shortcut methods that Mrs.Pope gave us were shorter, and helped me a lot. 
     One of my favorite method was working with inequalities. They seemed pretty easy, and they were actually kind of fun. I learned a few more organized ways into doing them, and how to do them. I will tell you one tirck

     Have you ever went to a restaurant, and wondered that if you would purchase something would it be better to make it in a ratio or a percent? This may seem like something complicated  but to me I would prefer to purchase my food as a percentage. Ratios may help as well, but I just think that with money and with prices, that percentages would be a lot more easier to understand. 
     Percentages would be better, because since you're working with numbers, and money, then percentages are better. I just believe that ratios are used for understanding other things, not having to deal with restaurants and money.

     When using Pi, you can find both the area and circumference of a circle. When you find the area of the circle, you have to use a formula. That formula is area equals Pi times radius square. That is all you do to fine the area of a circle. For example let's say your radius is 3 then you would have to do 3.14 and multiply that by 3 squared and then you will have your answer which will then be your area of that circle.
     To find the circumference all you do is use a formula as well. You have to do diameter times Pi and then you will find the circumference of a circle.

     Pi is a number that goes on forever and ever. I don't much about Pi just what I remember from last year. Many people think that when it's Pi Day it's actually "pie" day. They think that it's actually real food. Well. Pi actually begins with the number 3.14. But, the truth is the numbers just keep going and going like they never stop (which they don't).
     Pi is used for solving many problems for math. It is very useful sometimes. If you ever need it I think you will need it in an equation.

     Just last week in math we were talking about the equation y=mx+b. Well, if you guys didn't already know in the equation y is the dependent variable. The m is the slope or the rate of the line. X is the independent variable. Last but not least the b is the Y-Intercept. As you can see all of these things are mentioned in the picture to the left. 
     This equation is helpful when they give you a graph that you have to place it in. For example let's say they give you the equation y=2/3x+3. This is when you will have to use the equation y=mx=b for a resource. Also know that when you are graphing the equation you will have to end up with a straight line.
