In science class I have filled my brain with plenty of information. For instance before I came to Computech, I didn't even know what a Triple Beam Balance was, nor any parts of a microscope. I didn't even know what a Glogster was, nor what it did. But, now that I know I am happy that I know all of these things. I am happy that I learned all of this, because believe it or not I may need this in the future, and I believe that if I know the things ahead of time it would be more useful.

A few weeks ago, we had to learn about traits, and how we look how we look. We learned all about our parents traits, which as a result we have to get some of their traits as well. We also learned all of the different types of ways to write the traits. For example for the eye color it would be either big D little d. As a result we did a little experiment, and we had to flip a coin, and find out the traits of our "children". It was pretty fun, but at the same time it did take a lot of time. I thought it was pretty cool, because I learned a lot more about traits. I also believe this is an important topic that we needed to review.
Triple Beam Balance

For a while in science, we were learning how to measure the mass of an object by using a Triple Beam Balance. We learned what were the first steps into measuring mass correctly. The first step is to make sure that the needle is correctly balanced. Next, you place the object gently on the flat surface. After, you're going to start with the biggest weight. If it is to much, slide the weight back, and use the weight behind the biggest. If it is to much, then just use the weight that is left. You can just use your finger. In order to find the correct mass, both of the lines on the side have a meet up together.
I believe this is a very important topic. I believe this is important, because if I ever want to find the mass of an object, and if I don't know how to use a Triple Beam Balance to measure the mass, then how will I find the mass. I have learned many things. I learned how to use a Triple Beam Balance the correct way, step by step not just doing everything out of order.

Microscope Parts

For the past weeks, we have been learning about microscope's. We have learned how to use them, and the different parts they have. Our microscope that is in our science class is a lot like this one. It has almost the same parts that our microscope has. Another thing we have learned about is what the microscope parts do.
I believe this is an important, because if I wouldn't know the parts of a microscope or what they do, then I wouldn't know how to use the microscope the correct way. I learned many things about a microscope. I also learned why they have all the parts they do. It is as if they all play a huge part in the microscope, no matter how big or small they are.

Characteristics of Living Things In science, we were asked to make a glogster. This glogster contained information on cells. It also had one video that contained helpful information. We had to also write about living thing's DNA, living things using energy, reproducing, and grow and develop. We had to include three pictures, and three videos. I had only put up one video, because I couldn't fit all three with the pictures.
With this project, I have learned many things. I have learned many things of cell, and lots of things for living things. I am still actually surprised about many of the things I have learned. It is simply amazing! It's amazing how in a tiny little cell all those things fit in there. I can't to find out what other cool, interesting, fun, and amazing things that Mrs.Poole has for us. |
